Using Stop Smoking Shots to Help You Kick the Habit
Trying to stop smoking is one of the hardest things that you can try to do. What is the Stop Smoking Shot?
The SMART Shot (Scopolamine Mediated Anticholinergic Receptor Treatment) is a smoking cessation shot that combines two medicines which have been approved by the FDA for more than a decade for other uses. The two medicines in the shot are Scopolamine and Atarax. Scopolamine is the primary ingredient found in patches to help you mitigate sea sickness and Atarax is found in antihistamines. The SMART stop smoking shot combines these two drugs in a manner that help block the nicotine receptors in your brain and reduce the nicotine withdrawal symptoms associated with your attempt to stop smoking.
How does the SMART Stop Smoking Shot Work?
When you take the SMART Stop Smoking shot, it will use Scopolamine and Atarax in combination to block the nicotine receptors in your brain to mitigate the normal withdrawal symptoms associated from quitting cigarettes. The block is continued via pill and patch over the next two weeks to help you stay off of cigarettes. They do not use atropine or thorazine (chlorpromazine) in the stop smoking shot. The new SMART shot has been reduced to a single shot (the old shot was three total shots) in the hip or buttocks, and is proven to have less of a chance of side effects. The current SMART shot has a much larger success rate (verging into the 70%’s) than the previous shot and is almost 50% more successful than many Nicotine Replacement Therapies. As with any medication, you should seek the advice of your doctor before paying for the SMART stop smoking shot. If you are pregnant, have a history of heart or prostate problems, or are taking mood altering drugs you may not be able to take the SMART stop smoking shot. If you are able to take the shot, ensure you sign up for a complete quit smoking program along with the shot to help increase the odds of your attempt to stop smoking cigarettes to be successful.
